Wycombe Wanderers have made a bid for Bristol Rovers centre-back Connor Taylor, who has been on the radar of fellow League One side Peterborough United this summer.
That’s according to Football League World’s Bristol Rovers correspondent Steve Hutson, who’s said that the 23-year-old has been the subject of a bid from the Chairboys.
The bid is reportedly far below the club’s valuation but ‘player power has spoken’. It’s unclear whether this means that Rovers have accepted the bid from Wycombe or not.
Taylor wasn’t in Darrell Clarke’s squad on Saturday to face Oxford United in pre-season, which sparked speculation on social media regarding his future, until it was announced by Hutson that a bid had been received.
The defender was named Bristol Rovers Player of the Season last season, playing 42 times in League One, as the Bristolian club were relegated to League Two.
Taylor could become Wycombe’s 10th summer signing if the move goes through, joining an already strong defensive unit alongside Dan Casey, Anders Hagelskjaer, Taylor Allen, and Alex Hartridge.
Wanderers wrapped up their pre-season schedule with an impressive 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday morning, ahead of their trip to Bradford City next week.
