Wycombe Wanderers keen on permanent deal for Stoke City striker Nathan Lowe

Wycombe Wanderers are pursuing a permanent deal for Stoke City striker Nathan Lowe, The Quartermen understands.

The Potters have a decision to make on the 20-year-old’s future after he spent last season on loan with Stockport County and the Chairboys.

According to reports from Stoke-on-Trent Live, the highly rated young striker could be allowed to leave the bet365 Stadium on a permanent deal this summer, having failed to break into the first team under four different managers.

Stoke are looking to raise funds for a rebuild in the upcoming transfer window and Lowe could be one of the players on the chopping block, with clubs from Scotland and League One reportedly all weighing up a move for the striker.

Sources have now informed The Quartermen that Lowe’s most recent loan club, Wycombe, are one of these suitors.

The Chairboys are looking to bring in a marquee centre-forward signing this summer, and the Stoke hotshot is high up on their list after impressing in his short loan spell at the club.

He arrived in South Buckinghamshire after an injury curtailed his previous loan spell at Stockport, meaning fans had to wait just under a month to see him in action.

The wait would be well worth it though, as Lowe would score and assist on his debut against Stevenage before making it two goals in two games the following week against Burton Albion.

His final two goals for the Chairboys came in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Huddersfield Town in April, where he opened the scoring before half-time and went on to score a 101st-minute equaliser.

Lowe missed the final two games of Wycombe’s season after he was forced off with a foot injury in a 1-0 defeat to Blackpool in mid-April.

However, that may not be the final time the 20-year-old adorns the light and dark blue quarters, with Wanderers looking to win the race for his services this summer.

Lowe played 12 times during his stint at Adams Park, scoring four goals and assisting once.
