The Quartermen understand that Wycombe Wanderers are interested in QPR winger Daniel Bennie on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has recently been linked with a move away from Loftus Road after an excellent campaign in the club’s development squad, with plenty of League One clubs looking to win the race for the highly sought-after wide player.
Bennie bagged his eighth goal in 10 outings for the R’s development side on Tuesday afternoon when they held Manchester City’s dev squad to a 1-1 draw. The Australian is now keen to get some first team minutes under his belt with the view of breaking into QPR’s senior squad in the near future.
Transfer insider Pete O’Rourke revealed that a ‘host of League One clubs’ were holding interest in taking the winger on loan for the second half of the campaign, and The Quartermen now understand that Wycombe are one of those clubs.
Wanderers are looking to add to their wide ranks this winter after Sam Bell was recalled by Bristol City, and adding a hungry young winger to their ranks could be the perfect replacement for the 23-year-old, who has left a big gap to fill at Adams Park.
QPR and Wycombe already have a strong relationship, given their successful transfer dealings in the past, and shared connection through the legendary Gareth Ainsworth, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the London club feels that HP12 is the best destination for Bennie to thrive.
The Chairboys have also been linked with Cameron Humphreys, Karoy Anderson, Aaron Morley, and Harry Cornick this window, although no further updates have come to light regarding those deals yet.
