Wycombe need more wingers. Especially those who offer a goal threat. With Sam Bell out the door, and James Tilley likely to exit on loan, the Chairboys only have Junior Quitirna and Fred Onyedinma as natural wingers, with Alex Lowry and Niall Huggins capable if not comfortable as operating in a wide role too.
Meanwhile, Queens Park Rangers look set to cash in on former wonder kid Karamoko Dembele. The former Celtic star was once one considered one of the greatest prospects in the British Isles, playing with Celtic’s U-20 side at 13, signing a professional contract at 15 and making his Celtic debut at 16.
However, ankle and knee injuries hampered his progression, however in the 2023/2024 season, Dembele set League One on fire while on loan from Brest at Blackpool, scoring eight goals and getting 13 assists in 39 games before getting a move to London with QPR.
While Karamoko has largely appeared as a bench option for QPR, he has been solid if unspectacular. However, he does stand out in some areas, such as his 50% dribble success rate, 0.18 expected assists per 90 (which is only behind Leahy and Henderson with 0.21 expected assists per 90), and his 1.13 crosses made per 90.
Giving him regular gametime in League One could well be a way to get the best out of the 22-year-old winger, who is deceptively young with bags of potential. He would offer a high quality option at both wings as well as a 10, while providing a long term option for Wycombe as they keep looking to improve in the future.
He however, only joined QPR permanently in the summer of 2025 on an unknown contract, with the club also paying a rumoured 2.2m to make his deal permanent, making him an expensive acquisition should Wycombe want to go in for the young winger.
