According to Sky Sports, Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Tyreeq Bakinson is closing in on a move to fellow League One side Leyton Orient.

The 26-year-old joined The Chairboys last summer, but has struggled for minutes under Mike Dodds, despite a strong run of performances towards the end of 2024.

Bakinson featured 25 times in the League for Wanderers last term, starting just 10 matches, and was last seen in a 4-0 home defeat to Charlton Athletic in April.

Now, Sky Sports has reported that the former Sheffield Wednesday man is closing in on a move to Brisbane Road, after he was linked with them last summer.

This will see him link up with the beaten League One play-off finalists, who look to rebuild under Richie Wellens following some key departures.

In total, Bakinson played 34 times in all competitions for Wycombe last season, failing to register a single goal contribution.

This frees up space in the squad for the Blues to add a new holding midfielder to their ranks, with Luca Connell still of interest to the Buckinghamshire side.
