Mike Dodds Sacked by Wycombe Wanderers

Mike Dodds has been sacked by Wycombe Wanderers following a poor start to the 25/26 League campaign.

His time with the Chairboys has been a turbulent one, to say the least, taking over from Matt Bloomfield in February of this year, performances leaving a lot to be desired at times which led to a fifth-placed finish, and eventually the play-off semi-final heartbreak away to Charlton.

When the appointment was made earlier this year, many questioned if he was the right man for the job, taking over a side that was fighting for automatic promotion, even though he had never been a permanent manager, only taking interim charge at Sunderland on three different occasions.

The start of this season also left a lot to be desired, especially after the business that had taken place over the summer transfer window, it never really seemed to click for Dodds at Wycombe, with their one and only win coming against Mansfield two weeks ago.

The most recent loss against Peterborough once again brought many issues to light, and could have been the game that decided his fate. But, a win-rate of only 32% did build up the pressure over time, and it never really looked like it was going to turn around despite some decent performances here and there.

However, it is now time to look to the future, and hopefully turn this season around.
