Wycombe Wanderers vs Exeter City: Match Preview

Wycombe will be hoping to regain their form after a far from ideal start to the 25/26 league campaign, only picking up a point in three games, losing against both Bradford and Stockport before a draw with Doncaster.

Many will remember the last time these two met in Buckinghamshire, with Aaron Morley’s penalty in the 94th minute giving Wanderers the win in what was his last game playing in the light-dark blue before he was recalled by Bolton Wanderers.

The Chairboys are winless in six league matches, their last coming against Bolton in April, this game is very important if Wycombe want to collect their first win of the season, against a side that recently beat Blackpool 4-1.

There is significant pressure on Mike Dodds from Wanderers fans tonight, with performances not being up to the standard required, there is a feeling the fans could quickly turn on the coach at Adams Park today if things do not go well.

Meanwhile, Exeter City, have won one of their previous three league matches, which was the aforementioned 4-1 victory against Blackpool, losing 2-1 to Mansfield and 1-0 to Doncaster.

In their last five meetings, Wycombe have only came out victorious once, with two draws and two defeats.

Garath McCleary is unlikely to feature tonight with an injury, with new signings Bradley Fink and Ewan Henderson also sidelined.
