Those eagle-eyed Wycombe fans that attended Saturday’s game v Cheltenham will have noticed a trialist entering the pitch in the 78th minute. After lots of research, it has been identified the trialist was Michal Rosiak. Michal chose to leave Arsenal, after 7 years, at the end of the 24/25 season, in search of first team football. Michal bagged the third goal in Wycombe’s 3-0 win over the Robins.

Who is Michal Rosiak?

Michal, born in Poland, joined Arsenal in May 2018. Described as a A free-kick specialist with an eye for the top corner, Michal made 41 appearances across Arsenal’s youth sides last season – more than any other player.

Playing mainly at right back, he scored nine goals in the process, often from set-pieces, and provided six assists. His best spell came between September and January, when Michal registered a goal or assist in seven out of eight games. In 8 FA Youth Cup appearances, Michal bagged 4 goals, a handsome return.

Also comfortable in midfield, he has represented Poland at international youth level since first being called up for their under-15s team.

Whilst his coach for the Arsenal youth sides, Jack Wilshere had this to say about Michal, a set piece specialist, “He’s a great example to the players because he practices and practices. Of course, there are other sides to the game you can practice but he puts in serious dedication to his craft of taking free-kicks. He actually tried a bit of a different technique today but it was unsaveable. A great goal.”

Michal Rosiak to Wycombe?

Michal could feature in Wycombe’s short trip to League Two side Barnet on Tuesday. Michal came on in the Right Back position vs Cheltenham, a position already covered by Jack Grimmer & Fin Back.

Michal’s versatility means he could be a vital additions to Mike Dodds’ ranks. Michal can cover both Full back positions as well as providing cover in midfield.

In addition to his versatility, Michal would bring another set piece specialist to the club. Currently, Luke Leahy tends to be seen as the dedicated dead ball option, Michal would give Wycombe another excellent option in this department.
