Tyreeq Bakinson has joined London club Leyton Orient for an undisclosed fee following a single season for the Chairboys.

The 26 year old joined Wycombe in the summer of 2024 as the club looked to strengthen on all fronts, but struggled to appear consistently, falling behind in the pecking order to Luke Leahy, Josh Scowen, Aaron Morley and later Xavier Simons.

He made 25 appearances in League One for the Chairboys, 10 of those being starts and 15 being substitute appearances, and was an unused substitute in both playoff fixtures against Charlton.

He joins fellow playoff spot team Leyton Orient, who fell to defeat against Charlton at Wembley. Orient had a number of its players leave in the summer, including midfielders Ethan Galbraith, Jordan Brown and Dominic Ball, and are looking to continue to build on a fantastic 24/25 season.

Writers Opinion:

Bakinson was unlucky to join a squad that had many strong options in midfield, but also did not show his full abilities when given the chance.

It often felt like he was attempting the audacious, technical passes and long shots, which often did not work out in his favour. He was also in some ways a jack of all trades in a team who had specialists in midfield, from the ball winning destroyer Josh Scowen, the set piece specialist of Luke Leahy, and the technically superior Cameron Humphreys and Alex Lowry.
